Montgomery Family Practice Residency Program is the solo residency program at Montgomery Hospital Medical Center, a suburban community hospital located just 12 miles northwest of Philadelphia. Our supportive staff has been dedicated to training only Family Practice residents for 25 years. Our faculty, who are all Board Certified, enjoy full hospital privileges, allowing for continuity of care for our patients regardless of intensity of illness. Our modern on-site Family Practice Center provides comprehensive care to our patients, including Obstetrics, and is fully equipped for the teaching of office-based procedures. These opportunities, along with the cultural and socio-economic diversity of our patient population, afford our residents a broad range of patients for their training. Many graduates have gone on to establish practices in the vicinity.

Montgomery Family Practice Residency Program boasts several resident-friendly features that are distinctly unique to our program. In July 2000, our program successfully implemented an on-call night float system that has received a favorable response from both residents and the medical staff, while complying with the new residency work regulations. Our program also offers part-time options for interested residency candidates. Our forward-looking Director, who has history of successful leadership and a wide-ranging experience in teaching residents, has instituted a practice management curriculum which prepares our residents to manage the business side of medicine.

Our location, as well as the reasonable call-schedule requirements, allows our residents to take advantage of the lifestyle opportunities available in the Northeast corridor.
